Unlocked Neteller Accounts Make For Happy Customers

Neteller Accounts Unlocked

Over the past weeks, many former US Neteller customers have received emails in which they were asked to log on to their Neteller accounts and withdraw money from their accounts, which were frozen several months ago. Neteller problems seem to be on the way to finally getting solved, as they've paid out $70 million.

Clients are offered two ways of transfer, through an electronic transfer to a bank account or by check and they have until late January to withdraw their money. Most chose the bank transfer because it takes only about a day to complete. They are also asked to sign a waiver release, agreeing with Neteller not to sue each other.

Beginning in January, when Neteller problems started recently, the US federal investigation regarding Neteller and internet gambling, the funds in about 250,000 Neteller accounts were tied up.

Since PayPal pulled out of from the internet gambling payments industry in 2003, Neteller.com became the largest payment method and solutions company. So, the U.S decision as part of the ban on online gambling transactions in the now infamous UIGEA, was to freeze all those Neteller accounts and arrest Neteller co-founders. This sent a shockwave throughout the industry.

FBI explained to all customers having Neteller complaints that the funds were held as potential evidence. Now, when they received their money back, they've compared this to a jackpot win. From the sum of $136 million that is held as evidence, $94 million belong to Neteller customers.

Neteller.com is required to forfeit the whole sum of money and must also admit violating the US law against online gambling. Neteller CEO Ron Martin declared that the company's main priority is to return funds to US customers.
